Throwback: Engagement dress on a budget (Baju Tunang Simple dan Murah)

It's the season again... My weeks filled with anything related to people take another step on their relationship. I was not a favor of wedding before not until after my marriage, I'm kind of love weddings. Because I know how happy for being a bride. I'm happy to listen to their story of preparation. How creative once a tomboy and those who always said they have "tangan kejung" and not creative I.e; myself.

Throwback on my preparation for my majlis pertunangan. It was a simple engagement day. A freshly grads with a minimum salary how could I afford to have a grand one. To be the first who engaged among the three siblings (langkah bendul), my mom got way too excited and tends to park a cost for things related to engagement. The hantarans decoration.Therefore I have to divert a small budget indeed a very small budget for my baju tunang. I wanted a simple baju tunang dan murah. Thus the best things is to revamp an existing dress.

I sew beads and fake pearls on my mom baju kurung with 80s cutting (yes that vintage!) just to enhance it but not overpower the dress my mom got from her late mother in law. It's just a normal nylon mixed chiffon old timer kinda fabric.

The cream colour suited well with the theme. This dress actually happened to be the star. Still a star. Always got the compliment from my cousins. Apart how gorgeous the rest of my cousins' dress. They always come back and compliment my engagement dress. Not because of the dress is nice and sweet (they still are!) but because of how sentimental it become.

Pada kala saya sedang menaip ni kami dah genap 2 tahun berkahwin. Alhamdulillah. InsyaAllah tidak lama lagi kami akan berpindah ke rumah sendiri. walaupun dah 2 tahun tapi rasa macam baru jer. maka saya rasa macam nak imbau kembali hiasan bilik tidur pengantin yang sepenuhnya idea dan tatarias oleh ibunda tercinta. So saya pun copy balik susun atur dulu tapi tidaklah 100% sebab mengikut keperluan semasa.

kalau orang kahwin je mesti orang akan masuk tengok bilik pengantin. kerana kesibukan dan budget maka semua idea dan titik peluh imaginasi dan angan-angan dari mak ku yang tersayang. saya bagitau je nak warna apa. Abah tolong cat kan.

So now since my husband is away for work ada can la nak menghias. husband jenis asal kemas jer. x kisah sangat hias menghias ni. saya memang suka.

perkara pertama yang kami tukar ialah lampu. Asalnya lampu dinding, kemudian saya insist hadiah birthday saya pada ketika itu tunang saya untuk berikan saya lampu chandelier ni. (pada kala nak bertunang tu semuanya saya cut, beli barang untuk kahwin, teringin shopping shopping barang hantaran atau yang melibatkan perkahwinan). Lampu ni beli di Avalon lepas nampak iklan dalam surat khabar berharga RM89. Kisah asalnya disini.

Kemudian cat. Saya pilih beige atau off white but with satin effect yang beri kesan memantul.

Abah pula siap tolong varnishkan lagi satu satunya almari dan katil yang wujud sejak saya tak boleh ingat lagi. It was custom made so nothing can be move around. It stay the way it is.

Dari segi langsir cadar semua mak yang settlekan. So langsir custom made. Comforter pun custom made. Itu semua idaman mak saya lah tuh. Tapi saya tau my mom punya taste sure yang terbaik. She has this thing in mind where she wanted something that look eklusif tapi berguna. (You know la kan, cadar- cadar untuk perkahwinan sah la ridiculously mahal dengan cheap satin, dan panas dan you know you like sleeping on a plastic dengan bunyi kreok-kreok serta ada beads yang membuatkan kita confirm kene dry clean. Lepas tu x guna dah simpan jer kan. Bile nak pass kat orang dah outdated kan membazir). So my inventious mother custom made this off white thick lace as a comforter cover as well as sarung bantal.

Langsir pun dari jenis kain yang sama tetapi ada beza corak sikit.

A shaggy rug untuk memodenkan ruang yang dibeli di Jalan TAR.

Satu statement dalam bilik ni ialah Cermin ukir classic moden yang dibeli di SSF Home Deco adalah benda terkhir dibeli.

Frame yang di beli di ssf di gantung opposite wall. Saya tidak letakkan gambar tapi kad kawin. Konon-konon artistic. Lagi pun saya ada baca seeloknya jangan letak gambar orang sebagai hiasan dari segi pandangan Islam.

Selain itu sebagai pelengkap bilik dan penambah seri ialah dua bantal berkelopak ungu dan bunch of handregea.

Orang kata bilik tidur tu sesuatu yang privacy. Tapi kali ini as an excuse for ideas to others.

Percaya atau tidak.... A im now almost a year in marriage life.... Waaaaa..... & i freaking love it y'all. Last year at this time definitely the crucial time for the preparation... & yet until today my video is still have no news!
